The July Birthstone

The July birthstone is the RUBY. The Ruby is a variety of the mineral Corundum which is Aluminium Oxide that contains the element Chromium.. It is the Chromium that gives the Ruby its wonderful colour. The colour of rubies vary from Pink to a vivid Blood Red.

Along with Diamonds, Emeralds and Sapphires, Rubies are known as one of the four PRECIOUS STONES.
